Growing up, I never imagined becoming an entrepreneur. School was a struggle for me, and I often felt like I wasn’t smart enough.
After bouncing between jobs post-university, searching for where I fit and what I was meant to do, I finally found my groove in fashion sales—a space where I thrived.
In my mid-twenties, after a short stint working for a wholesale fashion agency, I took a leap of faith and launched Alyssa Agency, my own company representing top fashion brands.
Five years in, while still running the agency, I started a ‘side hustle’—an infant and kids' apparel brand called mini mioche. I had just had my first baby and couldn’t find the simple, soft, gender-neutral clothes I wanted for her, so I decided to create them myself.
Taking a leap into the unknown is scary, but I truly believe that’s where the real magic happens.
Over the next 15 years, I poured my heart and soul into growing mini mioche from a spark of an idea into a multi-million dollar brand—without experience in design or manufacturing, without partners, and without outside investment. It was one of the most rewarding experiences of my life—and also one of the hardest. There’s nothing like entrepreneurship to put you on a rocket ship of personal growth.
In 2023, I made the decision to sell and step away from the business. Letting go of something you’ve poured so much of yourself into is never easy, but I knew in my soul it was time for a new chapter.
For most of my life, I lived in a perpetual state of hustle. I wore my ability to push through challenges and achieve as a badge of honour. But I know now that there’s a different, better, more aligned way to create and build—one rooted in ease, flow, intuition, and self-trust.
This chapter is about living with intention. About presence, joy, and fun. About trusting my intuition and playing in the realm of limitless possibility.
